Zootechnical veterinary doctor from UNAM (2005) and animal trainer. She has 15 years of experience in the design, implementation and management of animal welfare programs for wild species under controlled conditions, mainly working with birds, primates and other small mammals.
In 2012 she founded Yolcati · Animal Welfare, a veterinary consultancy specialized in ethology and animal welfare. She works as a consultant for conservation, recovery, breeding and sanctuary centers on wellness, training and management issues, as well as training center keepers, trainers and veterinarians.
She also collaborates with veterinary clinics and hospitals specialized in exotic animals in the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral problems in their patients.
She is the author of “Step by step… free flight”, the first book written in Spanish that addresses responsible ownership and training as a tool for the well-being of companion parrots.
